What happens when children arent getting an education?

Hi. I live in oregon and my best friends family has 5 kids... There 17, 14, 10, 8, 6 i know that the 17 and 14 year old is doomed and there the only ones that know how to read... But none of them know how to do math science spell or write... I love them to death but its hard to see them like this. So there parents are seperated and very very poor.. What would happen if i let my mom tell her boss who is a mandated reporter would they know it was me?? Would they get put in homes? Forced to go to school?? Please help!!
